Need a hand with TrashLive? Here's how to get set up, plus answers to common questions.
Getting started
1. Set your trash days
Open Settings and turn on the trash types you use. Pick the weekdays, or use bi-weekly, monthly or specific-date rules.
2. Set the collection time
Enter the time trash is collected in your area. TrashLive uses it for the “time left” countdown and reminders.
3. Allow notifications
Tap Allow when asked, so reminders can reach you before collection time.
4. Turn on auto-display (Pro)
With Pro, the Live Activity appears on your Lock Screen automatically every morning — no need to open the app.

Do I have to open the app every day?
No. With Pro, the Live Activity appears on your Lock Screen automatically each morning. Reminders also work without opening the app.
What's free and what's Pro?
Setting your schedule, reminder notifications and manual display are free. Pro (a yearly subscription) adds automatic Lock Screen display every morning.
Which iOS version do I need?
iOS 17.2 or later, because TrashLive uses ActivityKit's push-to-start for the automatic Live Activity.
Can I set every-other-week or monthly collection?
Yes. TrashLive supports weekly days, Nth-week rules, every-other-week from a base date, monthly dates and one-off specific dates.
Does TrashLive collect personal information?
No. It stores only an anonymous random ID, your chosen days and display time. No name, address or account is required.
How do I mark trash as done?
Tap the checkbox on the Lock Screen Live Activity, or the button on the Home screen. The activity then finishes for the day.
